Every year since 1976 the Ohio Department of Health has published a report summarizing the statistics of induced abortions in Ohio.
The reports from the years 2001 through 2016 can be viewed on their website www.odh.ohio.gov. It is shocking to learn that 2,402 abortions were obtained by Huron County residents from 1991 to 2016. That averages to 92 Huron County babies lost to abortion each year. If you think about it in terms of our schools, that is about three full classrooms of children missing each year. These children are our children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
Sadly, the latest report shows that over 62 percent of women in Ohio that obtained abortions have one or more living children. Women deserve better than abortion. With some introspection, we know this is not about choice. Love saves lives. What will you do? Please join the annual Right to Life March this Sunday. We will assemble at the St. Paul Convocation Center at 2:40 pm for an invocation prayer and short presentation. We will march to the Huron County Courthouse at 3 pm.
