MIDDLETOWN (TNS) — Two people have been charged in the dumping of two bodies — one of which was a deceased woman — behind a vacant restaurant earlier this month in Middletown.

Middletown police on Aug. 4 found Destiny Williams, who was deceased, and Robert Childers, who was still alive, behind a vacant building at Main Street and Lafayette Avenue. Childers was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.

Valoree Harrison, 48, and Bryan Roberts, 50, have been arrested in the incident and charged with abuse of a corpse and obstructing official business, according to police.

More charges are likely to follow, police said.

Harrison and Roberts live at the Lemon Twp. residence on Buena Avenue where Williams and Childers were living in the basement. The couple discovered Williams and Childers lying in bed and thought they were both dead, according to police.

A sheriff's deputy who responded to the home a few months prior warned Harrison and Roberts they would be in trouble if there was another incident, police said.

When they saw the two apparently dead, they decided to dress the bodies and dump them somewhere else so it appeared they died at another location, according to police.

After moving the bodies, Harrison and Roberts took Childers' debit card and withdrew hundreds of dollars to stay at a motel "until things cooled down," police said.

Harrison and Roberts are scheduled to be arraigned later this week in Middletown Municipal Court.
