CARROLL TOWNSHIP — Two teenagers were taken to the hospital after a crash involving a semi Monday evening on Ohio 2.

The Sandusky post of the state Highway Patrol Post is investigating the two-vehicle injury crash that occurred at 7:23 p.m. on Ohio 2, near milepost 8, in Carroll Township.

Simon Arnold, 17, of Clyde, was traveling southbound on Humphrey’s road and failed to yield to a stop sign at the intersection of Ohio 2, causing him to rear end a semi driven by Dennis Hulburt, 60, of Quincy, Mich., troopers said.

Arnold and his passenger Gabrielle Clark, 17, of Sandusky, sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported by EMS to St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo, reports said. Hurlburt was not injured.

Seat belts were used by all involved and alcohol and/or drugs are not a factor in this crash, troopers said, adding that the crash remains under investigation.

Troppers were assisted by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), Mid County EMS, Carroll Township EMS and Greer Automotive and Towing.
