Man shot and killed in Bellevue

BELLEVUE — A man was shot and killed Sunday night in Bellevue.

The Bellevue Police Department received several 9-1-1 calls about gunshots being fired in the hallway of 113 Thomas Drive. When officers arrived they found Curtis Gibbs, 44, on the ground in the hallway.

Gibbs was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel and he was taken to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.

Preliminary investigation revealed multiple shots were fired from two different handguns, one belonging to the victim, according to police reports. Both guns were recovered.

A suspect in the shooting was identified, detained and taken in for questioning. The incident still is under investigation.
