CLEVELAND — At 7:46 p.m. Wednesday, state Highway Patrol troopers attempted to stop a reckless driver on Harvard Avenue, in Cleveland’s 4th District.

The suspect driver refused to stop and a lengthy vehicle pursuit took place. A Patrol helicopter began to track the fleeing suspect and pursuing troopers discontinued the pursuit. The fleeing suspect continued driving at high rates of speed until he struck another vehicle, a utility pole, and rolled over.

The suspect, 44-year-old Robert Poole, of Cleveland, was found to be in possession of a large amount of cocaine. Also, 29-year-old Desirae Powell, also of Cleveland, was operating the vehicle struck by Poole. Both were later transported to University Hospital, where they were treated and released with minor injuries.
