FREMONT — A motorcyclist has died from injuries sustained in a crash that happened last month in Sandusky County.

Ramon Trevino, 56, of Toledo, was driving a 2014 Harley Davidson Fat Boy east on Township Road 211, west of County Road 198 in Sandusky Township, at 10:55 p.m. May 24 when the motorcycle went off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned, ejecting Trevino, said troopers with the Fremont post of the state Highway Patrol.

Trevino suffered a severe head injury and was flown by a LifeFlight helicopter to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo.

At 10:50 a.m. Saturday, Trevino died as a result of his injuries, troopers said. He had remained in St. Vincent’s intensive care unit since the crash.

Trevino was not wearing a helmet and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, troopers said.

The Harley Davidson Motorcycle received functional damage and was towed from the scene by Triple J Towing.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Sandusky County Sheriff’s Department, Sandusky Township Volunteer Fire Department, Sandusky County EMS, Life Flight, and Triple J Towing.
