• Dec 28, 2017 at 2:00 AM

Ohio State Highway Patrol Trooper Nathan L. Waldock has been selected as the 2017 Trooper of the Year at the Norwalk Post.

Waldock also won the award last year.

The selection of Waldock, 24, is in recognition of “outstanding service” during 2017 at the Norwalk post, according to Lt. Doug Hamman.

Fellow officers stationed at Norwalk chose Waldock based on leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude, and cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public, Hamman said.

During his career, Waldock has received the Health and Physical Fitness award and has served as a Field Training Officer.

Waldock joined the patrol in 2014 and has served at the Norwalk post his entire career. Originally from Attica and a graduate of Seneca East High School, Waldock also attended the Marion Technical College before entering the Patrol’s Academy.
