New opportunities for deer hunters at Findley State Park

WELLINGTON — About 350 acres previously closed to hunting will be available to archers as part of a controlled hunt at Findley State Park.

Hunters must attend the 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 drawing, if they are interested in hunting. The drawing will take place at Findley State Park, which is located at 25381 State Route 58 in Wellington.

Other hunt details provided by the according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) include:

• Hunts are archery-only. All hunters must possess a valid 2017-18 hunting license and a valid deer permit in order to enter the drawings.

• Names will be randomly drawn and those selected will be assigned a location to hunt in the park.

• Selected hunters will be eligible to hunt their assigned location from Nov. 11 - Dec. 17.

• Hunters will be permitted to hunt with a partner. The partner is not required to attend the drawing, but must be defined prior to the start of the hunt on Nov. 11.
