The screenings will be performed by Dr. Eric Schmidt and Dr. Michael Nill. Both are general surgeons trained in minimally invasive robotic-assisted hernia surgery.
Many people live with a hernia and may either not know it or not want to have it evaluated. Many repair surgeries can be done robotically, as with the DaVinci surgical system.
Through robotic-assisted surgery, surgeons have greater dexterity and range of motion. That means faster recovery and less pain for the patient.
Attendees will have an opportunity to engage with the surgeons, ask questions and have a private screening. Demonstrations of the robot also will be available. Light refreshments will be provided.
Schmidt and Nill both perform hernia repair surgeries at Fisher Titus. In addition to general surgery, robotic-assisted surgery is also an option for patients with gynecological issues. For more information, visit fishertitus.org/robotic-surgery.
Space for these two events is limited, and registration is required. To register, call Fisher-Titus at 419-660-2646.
