NL to relocate communication antennas

By ELLEN SIMMONS • Dec 28, 2018 at 5:20 PM

NEW LONDON — In the final meeting of the year, New London village council took the first official step to relocate communication antennas from the existing Firelands Electric Cooperative location to the top of the village water tower.

Firelands Electric will not be building a tower in its new location, so the Huron County commissioners, New London Local schools, the ambulance service and village are entering into an agreement “for the cooperative purchase, construction, installation and ongoing operation and maintenance of antenna equipment” on the tower.

Police Chief Mike Marko reported his officers executed three search warrants involving drugs this month at three separate locations.

In other business, council learned the Tuesday garbage route will be collected Wednesday and the new vacuum truck has been delivered and is in service.
