Funding for NL water treatment plant improvement in place by summer

NEW LONDON — Village administrator Shawn Pickworth, during the Feb. 26 council meeting, reported funding for the water treatment plant improvement project should be in place by the middle of the summer. The project can then go to bid.
The forced main sewer project between the two parks is behind schedule because of the weather, but the directional boring is done and the crew is ready to move to the New London Recreation Park.
New London Police Chief Mike Marko showed two body cam videos of the execution of a search warrant in which 12 officers participated.
In other business, council approved a small bridge project on Grant Street and agreed to close the village hall drive-thru window April 1. A drop box for payments will remain available.
