NEW LONDON — In a brief meeting Monday, New London village council introduced an ordinance strengthening back-flow regulations affecting consumers with an auxiliary water system.

A resolution also was passed as an emergency to allow the village to apply for an Ohio Water Supply Revolving Loan of $750,000 to help with the funding of the water treatment plant improvement project.

New London Volunteer Fire Chief John Chapin reported his department was involved with house fires on Exchange Road on Thursday and Ohio 162 on Friday.

The Super Raffle, sponsored by the Friends of the NL Parks, the NL Rotary and the CIC, is scheduled for Saturday, with the doors to open at 11 a.m. and the first drawing at noon. Tickets are $ 10 each or six for $50 and a meal is included.

Council OK’d a request from the Sons of the American Legion to sell beer at the annual gun raffle in March at the Hileman Building.
