Plymouth throttles Wildcats in FC win

NEW LONDON — Seth Bailey ran for 117 yards on 22 carries and two touchdowns, and had one reception for 68 yards and a third score as Plymouth coasted to a 55-0 Firelands Conference victory over New London Friday night.

The winners scored early and often, jumping out to a 14-0 first quarter lead on a 2-yard run by Walker Elliot and a 68-yard strike from Elliot to Bailey.

The Big Red blew it wide open in the second stanza, scoring four times and taking a 42-0 lead at the intermission.

Plymouth picked up rushing touchdowns from Bailey (4 yards), Marcus Adams (14 yards) and Kade Collins (28 yards), and the defense got one on a pass interception.

The Big Red made it 49-0 on a Bailey 3-yard run in the third period, and Gryffin McClure closed out the scoring with a 1-yard run in the final frame.

Plymouth (3-4, 2-2) hosts Mapleton Friday night, while New London(1-6, 0-4) travels to Ashland Crestview.
