LYNDHURST — Plant Kingdom of Lyndhurst, Ohio is voluntarily recalling its No-bake Goo Balls (2.8oz, in brown paper package), Cacao Balls (3.2oz, in clear plastic bag) and Apple Cinnamon Explosion snack bars (2.1oz, in plastic wrapper) due to an undeclared wheat allergen.

This recall has been initiated due to the spelt ingredient not carrying a wheat allergen declaration.

Products were available for sale at retail locations in Athens, Cincinnati, Columbus and Northeastern Ohio.

Ohio Department of Agriculture inspectors discovered the misbranding issue during a routine visit. There have been no reports of illness involving products addressed in this recall, however, people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. Individuals exhibiting signs or symptoms of foodborne illness or allergies should contact a physician immediately.

Customers with a wheat allergy or sensitivity who have purchased the affected product should dispose of it or return it to Plant Kingdom for a replacement. Consumers with questions regarding this recall can contact Jeremy Koosed at (216) 410-6985.
