The Norwalk Fire Department was called to 230 Whittlesey Ave., Lot 50, at 6:22 a.m. Thursday. Chief John Soisson said a Grand Avenue resident saw the blaze from his or her residence and called 9-1-1.
“(The) shed was fully involved upon our arrival,” wrote Lt. Jamie Starcher, who was part of the crew that arrived at 6:32 a.m.
Firefighters used a 1 3/4-inch pre-connected line to attack the blaze, which was under control shortly afterward. The crew brought two engines to the scene.
Soisson said the shed is a total loss and it’s unknown how it started.
“There were no ignition sources out there,” he added. “It came in as a mobile home fire. It was just a (12 by 12-foot) shed. They were able to knock it down.”
Soisson said the blaze didn’t extend into any neighboring mobile homes or sheds. The crew left the scene at 7:15 a.m.
