Norwalk firefighters answered a fire call on Monday, responding to 301 W. South Norwalk Road at 12:17 p.m.

The home owner reported a 4-wheeler fire behind the house. When units arrived, they discovered the owner using a garden hose to try to extinguish the fires on two ATVs behind a wooden structure.

Firefighters used a 1.5-inch hand line to finish extinguishing the fire, then checked for extension into the nearby wooden building. The back received some outside damage, but it did not affect the inside.

Neither the cause of the fire, nor the exact cost of the damage was available as of Tuesday. The ATVs were destroyed by the fire. After extinguishing it, units returned to the station at 12:45 p.m.
