Collins, West Hartland United Methodist

These churches wish to extend an invitation to all. Worship services are at 8 a.m. at 4290 Hartland Center Road, Collins, or 9:30 at West Hartland, 1401 Zenobia Road, and at 11 back at Collins. Come as you are and enjoy worship and fellowship. This Sunday we will serve communion. The table is open to all who believe in Jesus, our risen Savior. Music is contemporary at Collins and more traditional at West Hartland, where a potluck will be served this week following worship.

 

St. Paul Episcopal

For the 17th Sunday after Pentecost, there will be a service of Holy Eucharist at 10 a.m. The Rev. Fred Wiechers will preside. A coffee hour will follow the service.

The second parish meeting will be Oct. 13. The free community meal will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 17.

Narcotics Anonymous will meet in Benedict Chapel on Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

First United Methodist

World Communion Sunday will be observed Sunday. Pastor Brian Oglesbee’s sermon topic will be from Revelation 3, “The Seven Churches, Part 2.”

Don’t miss the UMW fall rummage sale Oct. 10 through 12. There will be something for everyone.

Welcome the new Pathfinders at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Join the men’s and women’s Bible studies that are held during the week. Contact the church office for more information.

Single seniors are always invited to Frank’s delicious “7 S” lunch following worship.

 

First Presbyterian

Join this church to finish up the series “My Life in the Church-Connected Through Prayer.” Scripture readings are Luke 11:1-13 and Ephesians 6:18-22. Being part of the church means being a people in prayer for each other and the world. World Communion Sunday, Food Bank Sunday and the World Peacemaking Offering is Sunday. Fusion meets from 5 to 6:15 p.m. and Catalyst from 6:30 to 8.

 

Mary, Mother of the Redeemer

Beginning this weekend, the Mass schedule will be: St. Mary 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday; St. Anthony 6 p.m. Mass on Saturday and 8 a.m. Mass on Sunday. This schedule will remain in effect through December. The children’s liturgy of the Word also begins Sunday at the 10:30 Mass.

Blessing of Pets will take place at St. Anthony’s at 1 p.m. Sunday.

The 55 Plus Group will have lunch at the Freight House on Prospect Street in Norwalk at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday. All seniors are welcome.

 

First Baptist

This church, 67 E. Main St., will meet for Sunday worship, titled “We Are FBC Part 5,” at 10:30 a.m.

Bible study is at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Narc-Anon at 7 p.m. Tuesday and AL-ANON at 10 a.m. Thursday. The adult Sunday school series at 9:15 am is from Andy Stanley, “Game Plan.”
