COLUMBUS — Douglas Theaker, a board member at Pioneer Career & Technology Center and Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center, will receive the Ohio School Boards Association veteran board member award at its 63rd annual capital conference and trade show Sunday.

Pioneer and MOESC leaders said they feel extremely fortunate to have Theaker’s expertise and dedication as a part of their boards of education.

“No one is more dedicated to education and our country than Mr. Theaker,” Pioneer Superintendent Greg Nickoli and MOESC Superintendent Linda Keller said in a prepared statement.

The award is given in recognition of Theaker’s 25 years of service to Pioneer and MOESC. Of the nearly 3,500 board members in Ohio, only 28 will receive the honor in 2018.

In the spring, Theaker will receive an award from the Ohio School Boards Association recognizing a combined 40 years of service to Pioneer, MOESC and the Ontario Local Schools.

In its 63rd year, the Ohio School Boards Association leads the way to educational excellence by serving Ohio’s public school board members and the diverse districts they represent through superior service, unwavering advocacy and creative solutions.
