Berlin Hts. Kiwanis honor EHS seniors Davis, Nemire

BERLIN HEIGHTS — The Berlin Heights Kiwanis has named the students of the month for April and May.

Edison High School senior Molly Davis is the April student of the month and senior Jenelle Nemire was selected for May. They have been chosen for their contributions to EHS and the Berlin Heights and Milan communities.

Davis’ school and community activities include: Student council (president/communications cfficer); Spanish Club (treasurer/ fund chairperson); Spanish Honor Society (received Medal of Honor); Key Club (secretary); Interact Club; Math Club; math/writing lab tutor; Student Athlete Leadership team member; Health Professionals to Be; Edison Teen Leadership Corps; Camp Invention counselor; EHS Book Club member; Early Readers, peer tutor; EHS morning announcement crew member; Pull Tab Committee chairperson; received STEM competition regional-level award; honor roll; Big Brothers Big Sisters; cheerleading (captain, 110 %  and most-improved awards); Champion All-Star cheerleader; special needs cheer coach and also the Red Cross Blood Drive coordinator at EHS.

She plans to attend Ohio University, majoring in forensic chemistry and later a double major in human anatomy and sciences. Davis then plans to attend medical school to become a forensic pathologist. She is interested in working with the FBI.

Davis is the daughter of Timothy and Kelli Davis, of Fremont.

Nemire's school and community activities include: National Honor Society; student of the quarter (Spanish, science, math); Health Professional to Be Club; marching band squad leader and section leader (received Marcher of the Year in 10th and 12 grades and also honorable mention); solo and ensemble participant (received two superior and one excellent awards); stage, concert and pep bands; Spanish Club; Milan and Japanese Sister City Celebration speaker; Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer; vacation Bible school and Easter egg hunt volunteer.

She also has received the Girl Scout Gold Award and is involved in piano and dance lessons (received Dancer of the Month).

Nemire plans to attend Hiram College, majoring in nursing and eventually becoming an OB delivery nurse. She is the daughter of Ron and Bobette Nemire, of Berlin Heights.
