This work-based program is for students who will benefit from working part-time during the regular school day. It is designed as an alternative for students who are in danger of dropping out of school or those who have quit and wish to return.
This program uses the collaboration of the student, parent, employer and EHOVE to help students graduate from high school and be productive workers.
First, students receive instruction on goal-setting, teamwork, ethics, employability, leadership and more.
Next, they participate in paid work experiences and non-paid career exploration through internships, job shadowing, volunteering and service learning activities.
It takes a lot to make it all happen. Coordination with area employers, managing students' academic schedules, training, curriculum and job site visits, are just the beginning.
EHOVE CBI instructor Frank Gioffre nominated EHOVE Assistant Director Charlie Warthling for the Ohio Career Based Intervention Partnership Award to recognize his positive influence, contributions to the success of EHOVE's CBI program and willingness to always go the extra mile.
Warthling received the award on April 29 at the CBI annual conference in Dublin.
