EHOVE board makes personnel moves

AVERY — The EHOVE Career Center School Board met Wednesday.

The meeting began with a presentation from construction tech students Wyatt Ingersoll (South Central) and Elliot Courtney (Western Reserve) on their experience working on the Bellwether Farm construction project.

The board employed Audrey Easterwood, of Bellevue, as a part-time instructor on an as needed basis from March 15 to June 30, and Daniel Grine, of Collins, as a part-time instructor on an as needed basis from March 14 to June 30.

The board employed James Bond, of Norwalk, as a high school Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) instructor as needed for the 2017-2018 school year.

The board accepted the resignation of Richard Gilbert as part-time general maintenance and employed Gilbert as full-time general maintenance effective March 15 to June 30. 

The board approved service contract renewals for Northwest Ohio Educational Technology (NWOET) and North Point Educational Service Center for the 2018-2019 school year.

The board authorized the director of operations, and his designees, to proceed with the process required by Ohio law for the selection of a construction manager at risk to remodel and/or expand the district’s culinary (hospitality and tourism) facilites and other possible facilities including, without limitation, the early childhood lab facilities, public safety training lab facilities and general instructional and operational facilities, subject to the board’s approval of the construction manager at risk contract. The total cost of the construction manager at risk project will be based on the work authorized by the board on a phase-by-phase basis, but shall not exceed $10,000,000.
