Local issues range from school, tax levies to Sunday liquor sales

The issues voters will see on the ballot Nov. 7 range from school levies to Sunday liquor sales. 

Here are the issues and the information released from the Huron County Board of Elections.

Monroeville Local Schools — replacement levy

The 1.8-mill, five-year levy has the purpose of “adding to, renovating, furnishing and equipping buildings and other equipment, including buses and improving school sites.”

Bellevue city — Replacement and increase (income tax)

The 1-percent tax for a continuing period of time will benefit the general fund. Voting on the issue are Bellevue Nos. 3 and 4.  

Bellevue city — Renewal levy

The 1-mill, five year levy is purposed for the city’s park and rec. Bellevue Nos. 3 and 4 will vote on the issue. 

Bronson Township — Replacement and increase levy

The 1.75-mill levy is purposed to benefit the fire and ambulance for a continuing period of time. Voting on the issue will be Bronson Township Nos. 1 and 2

Edison Local Schools — Substitution levy

The 7.3-mill levy for a continuing period of time is proposed to benefit the necccessary requirements of the school district. 

EHOVE JVS — Additional levy

The 0.5-mill levy for a continuing period of time is proposed for general permanent improvements. Voting on the issue are Bellevue, Norwalk, Edison, Monroeville, South Central, Western Reserve and New London school districts. 

Greenfield Township — Replacement levy

The 2.5-mill, four-year levy is purposed to benefit the fire and ambulance. Voting on the issue is Greenfield Township.

Lyme Township — Replacement levy

The 2-mill, five year levy is proposed for current township expenses. Voting on the issue is Lyme Township.

New London Township — Additional levy

The 1-mill, five-year levy is purposed to benefit the fire and ambulance departments. Voting on the issue are New London Township and New London village Nos. 1 and No. 2.

Norwalk city — Renewal levy

The 0.9-mill, five-year levy is proposed for providing and maintaining a fire department. Norwallk city residents are voting.

Norwalk 1C —Local liquor option

The issue is purposed to decide on Sunday liquor sales. Voting on the issue is Norwalk 1C. 

Plymouth village — Renewal levy

The 1-mill, five-year levy is proposed to benefit the cemetery. Voting onthe issue is Plymouth village.

Richmond Township — Additional levy

The 1.5 mill, five-year levy is proposed for providing and maintaining fire, ambulance and EMS services. Voting on the issue is Richmond Township.  

South Central Local Schools — Additional levy

The 1-mill, 5-year levy is proposed for permanent improvements. 

Vermilion River Ambulance District -—Renewal levy

The 1-mill, five-year levy is proposed to benefit emergency medical services. Voting on the issue are Townsend  and Wakeman townships and Wakeman village.

Willard 3 — Local liquor option

The issue is purposed to decide on Sunday liquor sales. Voting on the issue is Willard 3.
