The Truckers won with ease, scoring 40 points to finish well ahead of runners-up North Ridgeville (72) and Copley (81). North Olmsted (101), Olmsted Falls (129), Valley Forge (139), Midview (155) and Sandusky (212) rounded out the field.
Sophomore Kyler Kromer led the Truckers as the overall race winner. He turned in a time of 16:26.1 to top the 51-runner field. His brother, Cobey Kromer, placed fourth in 17:07.79.
Also for Norwalk, Wyatt Hale was seventh (17:33.88), followed by Mitchell Sommers (17:35.56) in eighth. Gabriel Hainline (18:22.86) was 20th, followed by Samuel Neuberger (27th, 18:33.92) and Luke Brown (31st, 18:49.22).
In the girls race, Kylie Moser was fourth in 22:12.5 for Norwalk. Ana Henderson (24:41.78) was ninth, followed by Emma Laughlin (23rd, 30:09.01), Kallie Arndt (28th, 31:16.08) and Kelley Taylor (32:08.54).
Norwalk will compete at the Crestline Invitational on Tuesday to wrap up the regular season ahead of the SBC Lake Division championshps on Oct. 12 at Hedges-Boyer Park in Tiffin.
Bellevue competes at Old Fort
OLD FORT — The Bellevue boys cross country team was eighth out of 21 teams at the Old Fort Invitational on Saturday.
Cayden Adams was 10th overall for the Redmen in 17:34.98. He was followed by Caleb Wenzel (27th, 18:28.59), Ryan Cleveland (43rd, 18:57.46), Paul Coffelt (57th, 19:15.60) and Cody Kile (74th, 19:36.71).
On the girls side, Bellevue was ninth out of 18 teams.
Rylee Bollenbacher was 26th for the Lady Red (22:13.17), followed by Vanessa Shanaman (49th, 23:18.02), Dominique Weisz (59th, 23:55.55), Hope Alda (60th, 24:01.42), Lilli Ray (67th, 24:27.70), Megan Verhoff (71st, 24:33.59) and Courtney Fox (80th, 24:47.94).
