Man guilty of sex crime, child porn

A Willard man has been convicted of being a sex offender.

Cody F. Munsey, 21, most recently of 311 W. Maple St., pleaded guilty Monday to one count each of pandering obscenity involving a minor and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. According to his indictment, the pandering obscenity incident happened between Sept. 1 through Dec. 13 while the sex offense involved a victim between the age of 13 and younger than 16 between Feb. 1 through April 1, 2018. The Willard Police Department investigated the cases.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors dismissed six felonies — two counts of pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor, three charges of illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented material or performance and one count of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

Munsey remains out on a $20,000 bond and is prohibited from having contact with anyone younger than 18. His sentencing hearing is July 18.

In another case, Leigha R. Lacy, 29, most recently of 33 Spring St., Willard, pleaded guilty May 30 to aggravated trafficking in drugs and two counts of corrupting another with drugs. In exchange, prosecutors dismissed of two counts each of aggravated trafficking in drugs and corrupting another with drugs plus one charge each of trafficking in heroin and involuntary manslaughter.

Lacy’s conviction is for an incident about Aug. 8.

After the guilty plea, Huron County Common Pleas Judge Jim Conway revoked Lacy’s $100,000 bond. That means she will remain in the Huron County Jail until her July 24 sentencing hearing. Willard police booked Lacy into the jail March 15.
