A Norwalk man who was arrested in connection with a local drug bust has been indicted by a Huron County grand jury.

Bo A. Bogard, 33, of of 147 N. West St., was charged with possession of drugs stemming from an Oct. 26 incident. His indictment includes the stipulation that he was convicted of a “drug abuse offense” Aug. 3 in Norwalk Municipal Court and he may have to forfeit a Samsung cell phone to the state.

Bogard was one of six adult Norwalk residents arrested Oct. 26 when the Norwalk Police Department and Huron County Sheriff’s Office used a search warrant at 5 Unity Lane. Each agency is a member of the METRICH Enforcement Unit, a 10-county drug task force. Authorities also arrested a 16-year-old girl in connection with violating her probation through Huron County Juvenile Court.

“Methamphetamine and items related to drug trafficking were found inside the residence,” police Detective Sgt. Seth Fry said shortly after the drug bust.

Bogard has been unable to post a $10,000 bond since his arrest.

Other defendants who were indicted Friday are:

• Rafael A. Mendez Jr., 40, of 11316 Bellamy Road, Berlin Heights, on one third-degree felony of intimidation and three counts of aggravated menacing, all in connection with an Oct. 22 incident. His indictment indicates he is accused of knowingly causing “the victim to believe that Rafael A. Mendez Jr. will cause serious physical harm” to him or her.

• Travis L. McDonald, 31, of 412 Dale Ave., Willard, on one count each of breaking and entering and theft, both in connection with an Oct. 8 incident.

• Blake A. Vick, 26, of 33 Morley Drive, on two counts of possession of heroin and one charge each of possessing criminal tools and tampering with evidence, all in connection with an Oct. 9 incident.

• Charles W. Werner Jr., 49, of 19 W. League St., Suite C, on theft from a person in a protected class in connection with a Sept. 1 incident and two counts of theft of drugs, both stemming from an incident from about Oct. 1 through 17.
