Three Bellevue residents have been indicted by a Huron County grand jury in connection with a suspected armed robbery.

Tyler J. Haughn, 27, most recently of 8216 Ohio 13; Matthew Z. Robbins, 20, most recently of 4878 E. U.S. 20; and Joshua T. Thom, 19, most recently of 8216 Ohio 13, each are charged with one count of aggravated robbery. If convicted of the first-degree felony, each defendant faces three to 11 years in prison.

Each charge carries a firearm specification, meaning the men are accused of having a firearm on their person, displaying, brandishing or indicating he possessed a firearm or reportedly “used it to facilitate the offense,” according to their indictments. If convicted, each defendant must serve a three-year prison sentence before serving any other time.

The Bellevue Police Department investigated the Aug. 13 incident. The defendants have been in the Huron County Jail since Aug. 14 and are being held on $75,000 bonds.

Also, the grand jury indicted two suspected sex offenders Friday on separate offenses.

Jared D. Nichols, 32, of 575 W. Pearl St., Willard, is charged with sexual battery, a third-degree felony. The Norwalk Police Department investigated the suspected Dec. 15 offense.

Lucas J. Velasco Mejia, 50, most recently of 4489 Ohio 598, Lot 16, Plymouth, was charged with two counts of rape and one charge of sexual battery, all in connection with an Aug. 26 incident investigated by the Plymouth Police Department. His indictment indicates the suspected victim was younger than 13 years old at the time.

Velasco Mejia has been unable to post a $1000,000 bond since being arrested Aug. 26.

Also indicted Friday were:

• Andrew M. Clark, 19, most recently of 304 Nita Drive, Willard, on theft and grand theft of a motor vehicle, both in connection with an Aug. 16 incident.

• Dylan J. Souslin, 22, of 216 W. Laurel St., Willard, on tampering with evidence in connection with an Aug. 9 incident.
