The women, along with eight teenage girls vying to be crowned Miss Maple City’s Outstanding Teen 2019, will take part in the pageant at 7 p.m. at the Main Street School. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and a reception after the pageant is included in the ticket price.
Co-directors for the event are Dolly Ruffing and Wil Vickery.
There will be a silent auction with baskets from all the contestants, with all proceeds going to the Miss Maple City program.
Entertainment will be provided by Miss Maple City 2018 and Miss Ohio 2018 Matti Chrisman, Miss Maple City’s Outstanding Teen 2018 Ellie Nickoli, Class Act Dance Studio of Norwalk and Clyde, and Miss Maple City Lil Sisses.
Judges will be Eric Wagener, of Whitehouse, Heather (Wells) Barrett, Miss Maple City 2008 and Miss Ohio 2013, from Columbus, Marlia (Fontaine) Weisse, Miss Ohio 2005, of Canton, Shawna Corder, of Newark, and Lyndsey Daiga, Dave Child and Chris Castle, of Norwalk. Lyndsey was Huron Co. Jr. Miss in 1996.
The judges’ chair is Karen David, of Sandusky, and auditors will be Tim Smudz, of Wadsworth, and Tom Dunlap, of Norwalk. Dinner for the judges will be provided by Brian Buffet.
Emcees will be Miss Maple City 2015 and Miss Ohio 2015 Sarah Hider, Miss Maple City 2018 and Miss Ohio 2018 Matti Chrisman and Miss Maple City’s Outstanding Teen 2018 Ellie Nickoli.
During the evening wear portion of the pageant, each contestant is accompanied by a Lil Sis.
Miss Maple City 2018 and Miss Ohio 2018 Matti Chrisman will be accompanied by her lil sis Annaka Ruggles, daughter of Betsy and Mark Ruggles, of Norwalk.
Miss Maple City’s Outstanding Teen 2018 Ellie Nickoli will be accompanied by her lil sis Molly Meacham, daughter of Mike McConnell and Stephanie Wilson and the late Autumn Meacham, of Norwalk.

Rachel Ralston, 17, daughter of John and Mary Jo Ralston, of Tippecanoe. She attends Claymont High School. Ralston will play piano and sing. Her lil sis will be Morgan Ritter, daughter of Tim and Karen Ritter.
Ashley Ray, 19, daughter of Donna Post and the late Jeff Ray, of St. Henry. She attends Kent State University. Ray will sing as her talent performance. Her lil sises will be Makenzie Osborne and Whitney Collins, daughters of Natasha Collins, of Nova.

Miss Ohio Princesses assisting at the program will be Iris McConnel, daughter of Mike McConnel, of Norwalk, and Norma Zapata, of Columbus, Madelyn Swanson, daughter of Matthew and Megan Steffan, of Ashland and Kaitlyn Stulka, daughter of Stephanie and Joshua Stulka, of Mount Vernon.
Once crowned, Miss Maple City 2019 will receive an $800 scholarship, crown donated by Kim and Shaun Kanary, sash, floral bouquet from Betschman’s Flowers on Main, Saturday Night’s Lodging at Norwalk’s Econo Lodge, breakfast at Berry’s Sunday morning, a photo session at Moll Photography, one night stay at Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Sandusky and the right to represent Norwalk at the Miss Ohio Scholarship Pageant in Mansfield in June.
The state winner competes for the title of Miss America in September in Atlantic City.
Miss Maple City’s Outstanding Teen 2019 will receive a $100 scholarship, crown, sash, floral bouquet from Betschman’s flowers on Main, Saturday night’s lodging at Econo Lodge, breakfast at Berry’s Sunday morning, a photo session at Moll Photography as well as the right to represent Norwalk at the Miss Ohio Outstanding Teen Pageant, also in Mansfield in June.
The state winner competes for the title of Miss America’s Outstanding Teen in Orlando, Florida in July.
