Project Leadership celebrates 20th anniversary

• Sep 10, 2017 at 6:00 AM

Project Leadership of Huron County is celebrating their 20th anniversary and the board is inviting graduates of all 20 classes to attend a reunion at the club house at Memorial Lake from 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 14.

This informal get-together will include light refreshments and a chance to reconnect with class members and friends from over the last 20 years and to compare notes on how the Project Leadership program has influenced your experiences.

The Project Leadership program is designed to build leadership skills of current and future leaders throughout Huron County. It is a year-long educational curriculum encompassing comprehensive activities to introduce participants to all aspects of Huron County.

Each class is divided into groups which select a county concern for which they develop a program to improve the situation. Examples of some previous programs include working with “First Books Distribution,” mentoring school students, and encouraging English as a second language.

The program has allowed factory managers, hospital employees, mayors, school employees and administrators, government workers and many others to learn about farming and many other aspects unique to Huron County. This diverse blending of class members has allowed people from all over Huron County to join together for a year-long learning experience.

All graduates from the past 20 Project Leadership classes are encouraged to take this opportunity to visit and exchange information.
