MILAN — Edison High School seniors Megan Morley and Allison Pennell, junior Meredith Holler and the Edison Drama Club have teamed up to take on a new student-run fundraiser.

On Saturday, the drama club will present A Play in a Day at 7 p.m. This project will challenge students to stage, rehearse and perform an original play in a single day.

The performance, “High School in 30 Minutes...or Less!,” will be a short, student-written play recounting both the momentous and sometimes unfortunate events of the high school experience. The audience will be taken from the trials of freshman year through the much-awaited senior year. The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Admission will be free, but donations to help support the Backpack Program will be taken at the door. The program, coordinated by The Salvation Army, Milan Service Unit, Edison Memorial United Methodist Church and Edison High School Interact Club, provides weekend food assistance for qualifying students in the Edison elementary, middle and high schools.
