The new project will add more than 5,200 square feet to its existing footprint and bring an estimated 18 new jobs — which is due to significant growth with existing and new customers — to the Norwalk area.
New Horizons immediately will start the hiring process for the new positions, with plans to have the new team members in place for training by early April, with additional hiring for summertime work at the facility coming soon. The investment in the building and new equipment allows New Horizons to remain a strong leader in an increasingly competitive industry, strengthening the company’s position in the North American market, company officials said. The company currently employees more than 400 team members at its three facilities, two of which are in Ohio.
This is the company’s fifth expansion in the last five years.

Leading New Horizons in their new growth phase is Trina Bediako, recently selected as the president of New Horizons Acquisition Corp. She has been a top contributor to the company’s success for the last 16 years.

I could not be more proud of her accomplishments. We are expecting significant growth under her leadership,” said Tilmon F. Brown, CEO and owner.
After earning a bachelor of science degree in marketing with a minor in Spanish from the University of Connecticut on a full college scholarship, Bediako began her career in the telecommunications industry. She worked for 15 years with Southern New England Telephone Co., Lucent Technologies and Avaya, Inc. in marketing, sales, programming and training.
In 2002, Bediako started her career with New Horizons. She has held several leadership roles in the company during her tenure with NHBCO, ranging from vice president of human resources to corporate vice president. Early in 2017, Bediako was promoted to president of the New Horizons Baking Group.
Bediako has received manufacturing and business training at the American Institute of Baking, Kellogg School of Management and Wharton School of Business.
She shared her appreciation and the company’s gratitude for the overwhelming support it has had from the area.
