COLUMBUS — Bellevue junior Casey Santoro was selected to the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association All-Ohio first team for a second straight year in Division II, it was announced on Wednesday by the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

Also from the area, Willard junior Cassidy Crawford was a second-team selection, and Bellevue sophomore Cory Santoro earned honorable mention honors.

Santoro, a 5-foot-4 guard and Kent State University commit, led the state-ranked Lady Red to a regional runners-up trophy after falling to Toledo Rogers for a second consecutive season. She averaged 21.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 4.0 steals per game during the regular season for Bellevue, which has won nine straight league championships and five district titles in the past six seasons.

A 5-10 junior, Crawford averaged 20.2 points and nine rebounds per game for the Crimson Flashes (20-5), who won 20 games and pushed Bellevue to the limit in a district championship loss on March 3. As the top scorer in the SBC Bay Division, Crawford averaged six points more than the second-leading scorer this season — and surpassed 1,000 career points on Jan. 29.

Casey’s younger sister, Cory is a 5-5 guard and averaged 17 points, three rebounds and 3.3 steals per contest for Bellevue.
