Thomas named AP Division II All-Ohio Player of the Year

The post-season awards keep racking up for Norwalk’s Jiselle Thomas.

On Tuesday afternoon, she was named AP Division II All-Ohio Player of the Year after averaging 24 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals a game for the Norwalk Lady Truckers. She led the Truckers to the first district championship in school history this season. She eclipsed the 2,000-career point mark this season.

In Division III, Willard freshman Cassidy Crawford and Western Reserve junior Andrea Robson picked up honorable mention All-Ohio honors for their seasons. Crawford averaged 14 points and 10.4 rebounds a game in her first varsity season. Robson pieced together a great season with 14.7 points, 4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.4 steals per game for the Co-Firelands Conference Champion Western Reserve Lady Roughriders.

In Division IV, St. Paul senior Ashley Painley picked up an honorable mention All-Ohio honor after leading the Lady Flyers to a share of a Firelands Conference championship after averaging 15.3 points, 7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.4 steals per game. She also reached the 1,000-career point milestone.
