CLEVELAND – Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor and left-handed relief pitcher Brad Hand have been named to the American League All-Star roster for the 2019 All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 9 at Progressive Field.

Both Lindor and Hand were voted onto the roster by their peers via the MLB Players Vote. This will mark Lindor’s fourth appearance on an All-Star roster, as he has now made four-straight teams since 2016. Hand has been named to his third All-Star roster, his first for the American League, as he was named to two straight National League All-Star teams in 2017 and 2018.

Additionally, first baseman Carlos Santana was officially named as a participant in the 2019 T-Mobile Home Run Derby on Monday, July 8.

He will be the first Tribe player to compete in the Home Run Derby since Grady Sizemore in 2008, and will join Jim Thome as the only other Indians player to participate in a Home Run Derby in Cleveland.

Santana is the first Indians first baseman since Thome in 1999 named as an All-Star starter.
