Participants will hike through the sugar bush with “Naturalist Mike” to observe and lend a hand with the work that it takes to get this sweet treat. Those attending are encouraged to dress for the weather.
The event will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. at Edison Woods MetroPark, 8111 Smokey Road, Berlin Heights.

For those unable to attend this Sunday, two more similar hikes are planned — one from 1 to 2 p.m. March 16 and the other from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. March 21.
Erie MetroParks was formed as the "Erie County Metropolitan Park District" in 1968 and adopted its current name in 1991. It consists of 12 individual parks or preserves located throughout Erie County, covering about 3,254 acres.
Erie MetroParks also boasts having 30 miles of trails and more than 300 free programs each year, including the sugar bush hike.
