CLEVELAND — Drivers, start your engines! The countdown to automotive excitement has begun, and tickets are already on sale.

The Cleveland Auto Show, presented by Huntington Bank will open on Friday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. at the I-X Center in Cleveland, and runs through Sunday, March 4 when its doors close at 8 p.m. You can buy tickets online at clevelandautoshow.com.

“With more than 850 pre-production and production models inside the I-X Center, the Cleveland Auto Show is the perfect place to shop for a new vehicle,” says Robert Morris, chairman of the Cleveland Auto Show and dealer principal of Morris Cadillac Buick GMC in North Olmsted. “Where else can you see everything under one roof, and make direct comparisons? You’ll also find product specialists in each display who are there to answer your questions about all the exciting new features on today’s vehicles.”

See something you like on the Show floor? You might be able to take one out for a test drive at one of the Cleveland Auto Show’s Ride-N-Drives. This year automakers are hosting seven separate Ride-N-Drive events with vehicles from eleven different brands: Ford, Mazda, Toyota, Subaru, Kia, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep and Ram.

“We’ll also see the return of great indoor attractions like Camp Jeep and Millionaire’s Row, as well as totally new surprises like Optimus Prime, the Western Star Truck that starred in the Transformers movie last summer,” adds Louis A. Vitantonio, president of the Cleveland Auto Show. “And there’s always plenty of family fun and entertainment as well as celebrity appearances throughout the Cleveland Auto Show’s 10-day run.”

On Sunday, Feb. 25, five two-man teams of aspiring automotive tech students will square off in the “hands-on” finals of the 26th Annual Greater Cleveland Automotive Technology Competition. The competition measures the technical and diagnostic skills of these talented students, who have to race against the clock and compete against each other to win valuable scholarship money.

Looking for a bargain? Bring the whole family out to the I-X Center, and save money on Monday, Feb 26. It’s Family Day, sponsored by Medical Mutual, when children 15 years and younger get in free. We’ve got special appearances planned just for Family Day, including the Tribe Hot Dogs and a visit from Snoopy, who’ll bring a chance to win an overnight stay for four at Cedar Point’s Castaway Bay, with four Two Day Any Day, Any Park passes! It’s also a great day to get the whole family’s opinion on a vehicle you’re interested in buying or leasing.

If you’re a veteran, first responder, active military or reservist, stop out to the Show on Thursday, March 1, for the Cleveland Auto Show’s Second Annual Hero’s Day, when you will be admitted to the Show free of charge with proper I.D.

On Saturday, March 3, a panel of judges will select the winners of the Cleveland Auto Show’s Annual Classic Car Competition. Featuring cars 25 years old or older, contestant vehicles compete for cash prizes, as well as our People’s Choice award held on Facebook.

The Grand Finale of the Show happens on Sunday, March 4, with the awarding of the Grand Prizes in the Cleveland Auto Show’s Official Vehicle Giveaway Contest. Throughout the Show’s ten-day run, attendees will be encouraged to register to enter the contest. Winners will be selected throughout the Show and invited back for the final drawing. This year, the Cleveland Auto Show and the Northern Ohio Buick GMC dealers will be giving away two-year leases of a 2018 GMC Terrain and Buick Regal TourX to two lucky grand prize winners. You can mail in your entry to: Official Vehicle Giveaway Contest, c/o GCADA, 10100 Brecksville Road in Brecksville, OH 44141.
