The concert will be at 8 p.m. March 24 as part of the gala, presented by Fisher-Titus Medical Center. Starting at 6:30 are petite appetizers, desserts and an art exhibit, which includes Best in Class Art students from kindergarten through the 12th grade. Drama department students will perform highlights from the 2017 musical “Peter Pan” and there will be a string quartet accompaniment by orchestra students.
For the evening’s entertainment, Dusty Tovsen and his musicians in The Speakeasy Jazz Cats will bring Dixieland-style jazz straight from the streets of New Orleans. The board of trustees for the Endowment Fund for Norwalk City Schools has awarded a total of 360 student scholarships (more than $499,000) to Norwalk High School graduating seniors and a total of 29 faculty grants (more than $30,000) to district faculty members since the fund’s inception in 2000. The fund’s market value currently exceeds $1.5 million.
